This program is designed to bring to the forefront the importance of ground ladder operations for fire departments. Life safety is the priority of the fire service; by the numbers nearly 3 civilians are rescued from fires by ground ladders every day. Unfortunately ladder operations, training, care and maintenance is lacking in most departments. The classroom presentation is based on National Fire Academy research and the training program developed and implemented at the Edmond Fire Department. Hands on training session will improve skills and comfort with ground ladders and improve efficiency in operations. The content in this program will benefit all ranks and all organizations from Chief Officers, training staff to new firefighters. The class will take place at the Edmond Fire Rescue Regional Training Center (5300 E. Covell Road, Edmond, 73034).
