Landscape Improvement Award Nominations Open

Has your neighborhood group planted new trees or other landscaping this past year? If so, they may be eligible to win additional trees through the 2017 Landscape Improvement Award! This recognition falls under the multi-faceted Edmond Tree Awards program. In addition to the trees received, Urban Forestry’s Landscape Improvement Award sign will be placed near the winning project during the growing season in 2018.

Trees and other landscape plants within neighborhood common areas contribute immensely to the social, personal and environmental health of a community. We already see that many neighborhoods have embraced these benefits by incorporating trees into their communities. Through the Landscape Improvement Award, the Urban Forestry Commission will commend those efforts and contribute more trees that may be used by the winning group, within their neighborhood.

Award Eligibility

  • Neighborhood is located within Edmond City Limits.
  • Tree planting/landscape project was completed after July 2016, within a neighborhood common area.
  • A contact person has filled out the online application form, which includes basic information about the project and five images.
  • Submissions close on August 4th, 2017.
The Urban Forestry Commission will review applications at their August meeting and the winner will be announced by the end of August.
