Work to abandon sanitary sewer manholes under two separate roadways will cause closures beginning Monday, January 29th. The projects are expected to last up to five days with cooperative weather.
(UPDATE: THE SECOND STREET WORK HAS BEEN DELAYED UNTIL MARCH 19 TO COINCIDE WITH SPRING BREAK.) The first impacted area is along Second Street just east of Garland Godfrey Drive. The westbound inside lane will be closed for five days. The westbound outside lane will remain open during this time, but motorists should expect delays.
The second impacted area is along Boulevard between Main Street and First Street. Both southbound lanes will be closed with traffic being detoured onto Main Street. This closure will last for three days, and motorists are encouraged to find an alternate route during this time if possible.
This work is being done as part of the 2017-18 Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation project. The contractor is Krapff Reynolds Construction Company, and the contract cost for the entire project is $1,405,131.70.
