Applicants Sought for Housing & Neighborhood Assistance Programs

The City of Edmond is seeking applicants to take part in the Housing and Neighborhood Assistance Programs provided by Community Development Block Grant (CDGB) funds.  These CDGB funds are available to Edmond residents that meet financial qualifications for the following programs:

  • Owner-Occupied Housing Rehabilitation - The program rehabilitates homes to meet basic HUD and city building codes with emphasis placed on structural safety, sanitary conditions, lead-based paint abatement, and energy efficiency. Only owner-occupied, single-family homes are eligible.
  • Neighborwoods Tree Program – The program utilizes an urban forester to trim and remove hazardous or diseased trees, as well as planting new trees to enhance our healthy urban forest.
  • Code Compliance Assistance - The program assists residents who have dangerous structures such as old sheds, garages and fences that need to be removed to comply with city code.
  • Homebuyer Assistance Program - The program provides assistance for down payment and closing costs up to $5,000. The home must be located within the Edmond City Limits and owner-occupancy only.

Qualifying projects are funded on a first-come, first-served basis until funding is exhausted.  The deadline for 2018 project applications is July 2, 2018.
