Urban Forestry Seeks Landscape Improvement Nominations

Landscape Improvement Award Sign

Nominations for Edmond’s Landscape Improvement Award are now open and will be accepted until July 31.  Homeowner associations/neighborhood groups that have enhanced their neighborhood environment through the planting of trees and other landscaping are eligible to enter for a chance to receive additional trees and recognition signage for their outstanding efforts.

To be eligible, projects must be in neighborhood managed property within the Edmond city limits and completed after July 31, 2017.  All landscape projects that enhance the neighborhood environment are eligible, with greatest emphasis on tree plantings.  Trees installed through the Foster-A-Tree program do not qualify.

To apply, complete the Landscape Improvement Award form found at by July 31.  Basic information about the group and project, as well as photos of the finished project, are required.

The Edmond Urban Forestry Commission will review eligible applications at their August meeting to select the winner. The elements evaluated will be design, implementation, aftercare and the resulting impact made by the improvements.

The winning group will receive additional trees for their neighborhood, and the Landscape Improvement Award sign will be placed near their winning project during the following growing season.

Previous neighborhood recipients of the Landscape Improvement Award include Autumn Ridge in 2017 and Villages at Coffee Creek in 2016.
