Projects Currently Under Construction
2nd Street Intersections at Vista and Bradbury
This project consists of widening 2nd Street to add turn lanes and Traffic Signals at Vista and Bradbury. This project is part of the 2000 Sales Tax Improvements. The contract was awarded to Shell Construction in the amount of $1,674,583.52. The funding is 100% City funds.
Emergency Signal Pre-Emption
This project will upgrade the existing signal preemption equipment at signalized intersection throughout Edmond. The estimated cost is $350,000.00 and will be funded with 100% Federal funds. The anticipated start date is spring of 2008.
07-08 School Zone Safety Improvements
This project will include school zone flashers and driver feedback signs on Coltrane north of Coffee Creek at the new Centennial Elementary school. The estimated construction cost is $55,000.00. The anticipated start date is summer 2008.
2008 Project Schedule
Covell Road, Thomas to Broadway
This project consists of widening Covell to a four lane divided roadway with sidewalks and bike paths. This project will also eliminate the at‑grade crossing with the railroad tracks. Covell will be depressed under the railroad tracks. This project is part of the 2000 Sales Tax Improvements. The estimated construction cost is $6,695,353.00. The funding split will be 80% Federal funds and 20% City Funds. The anticipated start date is summer of 2008.
Danforth, Faircloud to just east of Coltrane
This project will widen Danforth to a four lane roadway with left turn lanes at Coltrane. The project will also include a new signal at Danforth and Coltrane. This project will be funded with 100% City funds from the 2000 Capital Improvement Fund. The anticipated start date is summer of 2008.
Coltrane, Road Bridge Replacement, 0.2 Miles North of 15th Street
This project will replace the existing bridge with a four‑lane bridge with sidewalks on both sides of the bridge and a trail underpass on both ends alongside Coffee Creek to accommodate the trails system. The estimated construction cost is $1,250,000.00 and will be funded with 1996 Sales Tax.
Kelly, south of Covell at proposed Lowes site
This
project will build the two southbound lanes in front of the Lowes site. The
project may include temporary signal at the entrance into Lowes. The estimated
construction cost is $924,533.00 and is funded 80% by Lowes and 20% by the
City.
