Parade of Lights
Edmond Electric's Annual Parade of Lights and Mayor's Tree Lighting is the perfect event to get you in the spirit of the holidays. Beginning at 6 p.m., on December 6, 2014 residents and visitors are invited to join together at Shannon Miller Park for the Mayor's Essay Contest Winner presentation and tree lighting.

This year’s essay theme is “If you had family visiting from another state, where would you take them to experience the Holidays in Oklahoma?” The contest is open to all 1st through 5th grade, Edmond students. Once the presentation has been made, the contest winners will be able to ride in the Edmond Electric Parade of Lights.  If you would still like to enter the contest, please bring your essay by the Mayor’s office located at 24 E. 1st St. or the MAC building in Mitch Park no later than November 21st at 5 p.m.

At 6:45 p.m., the parade will step off from the UCO campus and stroll through the beautifully lit Downtown Edmond. “To continue with the theme of the parade, each entry is required to have lights adorning their float. We’ve had many exciting entries over the past couple of years and we look forward to seeing what’s in store for this year’s holiday tradition in Edmond,” said Jessica Lyle, Edmond Electric Community Relations Coordinator.

It all begins Saturday, December 6 at 6 p.m. and we hope all of you will join us for these holiday traditions in Downtown Edmond that helps make our community a great place to grow!

If your group or organization would like to participate in this fun holiday event, applications can be found below or you can call Jessica Lyle at 216-7729. Application deadline is November 21, 2014.
