Edmond Police Department Recruitment
The City of Edmond Police Department is now accepting applications from qualified candidates for our upcoming Police Academy 15-05.  

The Police Preliminary Questionnaire must be completed and submitted to the Human Resources office for review. If you meet all the qualifications, you will be given a full application.

Both the Preliminary Questionnaire and the Application Packet must be completed and returned to the Human Resources Office at 7 North Broadway, Edmond, OK 73034 no later than 5pm on Monday, December 1, 2014.

The Edmond Police Department uses the Police Officer written exam from Stanard and Associates.   Stanard and Associates provides a study guide, and a practice test for your convenience to utilize if you wish.  There is a fee for each of these that is paid direct to the company and is in no way associated with the Edmond Police Department.

Minimum Qualifications for Police Officer

  • You must be at least 21 years of age.
  • You must be in good physical condition.
  • You must be a United States citizen.
  • You must have successfully completed one of the following:
    • 30 or more hours of college credit hours with a minimum GPA of 2.0.
    • A minimum of 15 hours of college credit with a minimum GPA of 2.0 and 2 years prior *police experience
    • A minimum of 15 hours of college credit with a minimum GPA of 2.0 and 4 years prior active military experience with a discharge under honorable conditions. 
    • A minimum of 15 hours of college credit with a minimum GPA of 2.0 AND served 4 years as an Edmond Police Department Jailer*
  • You must have or be able to obtain an Oklahoma State Driver's License.
  • You must have a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier.
  • You must have an excellent history of personal conduct, behavior and employment.
  • You must have basic knowledge of computer use.
*Your law enforcement experience must have been on a full-time basis. Part-time or reserve status does not apply towards experience. Military experience will not be considered as police experience.
