City's Response to the Winter Weather Storm
Crews working to keep City safe

Road crews worked throughout the evening plowing and salting arterial roads, some section line roads and parking lots. Road treatment will continue today and throughout the weekend with crews working 12-hour shift schedules. Approximately 160 tons of salt has been used to treat roads.
Trash collection for Friday has been cancelled and is scheduled for pick-up on Saturday. The Transfer Station is closed on Friday and will reopen Saturday with extended hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Edmond Electric received two call-ins yesterday evening resulting in blown breakers of the respective residents (issue not associated with Edmond Electric facilities). There has been no reported outages due to the storm. Officials are monitoring the ice accumulation as well as wind speeds, both of which are factors in possible power outages. Edmond Electric crews are working normal shift hours but are prepared to move to shift schedules if needed. An outage management map has been placed on edmondok.com. Citylink bus service is not running today but will resume routes Saturday. For information about the service residents can call customer service, 509-6370.
Law enforcement officials report a significant decrease in accidents from the December ice storm and fire officials reported only one structure fire yesterday evening.
