Wild West Fest Scheduled for November 8

Inaugural event to bring cultural awareness to community

Festival Market Place will be home to the first Wild West Fest scheduled November 8. Featuring live entertainment, dance exhibitions, contests for all ages and kids activities, this event has something for all ages. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

"This Wild West Fest is designed to honor and celebrate the Western, Native America and Equestrian cultures so prominent in our community." said Summer Terrell, Edmond's Special Venues Coordinator. Also featured will be a Tack Swap where horse enthusiasts can buy, sell and/or trade new and gently used livestock or equestrian related items.

Vendor booths will be set up providing fun activities for children such as constructing western-themed book marks and refrigerator magnets. There will also be an interactive area featuring pony rides and a dummy roping area. Space is available for vendor booths and the tack swap.

Space is available for vendor booths for $30 and the tack swap area is just $5 to reserve a spot. Festival Market Place is located west of Broadway on First Street in downtown Edmond. For more information contact the Parks and Recreation department, 216-7634.
