Outdoor Warning Devices

Outdoor Warning Devices or Sirens are systems designed to provide an audible alert for those persons who are "outdoors". The system is not designed to provide warnings to citizens already indoors.

The function of the siren is to alert residents to TAKE IMMEDIATE SHELTER, and tune a television or radio for local information on current conditions.

Situations when the City of Edmond activates its outdoor warning devices are as follows:

All Sirens are tested on the first Saturday of each month at noon. Tests are not conducted when the possibility of severe weather is present.
