Report An Outage
Even though Edmond Electric has one of the best reliability ratings in the state of Oklahoma, sometimes power outages do occur. In the unlikely event of a power outage, some useful information can be found below.
Verify the Outage
- Check lights and/or appliances in all rooms. The problem could be a tripped circuit breaker.
- Check circuit breakers in main panel disconnect. When circuit breakers trip, they will need to be turned completely off before trying to reset.
- Check with neighbors to see if they are also out of power. The outage could be more than just your house.

Please do not dial 911 for outage information or to report power outages.
- Information such as your name, location, telephone number and any observations made prior to the outage are necessary to assist with the trouble shooting and possible follow-up.
- Upon request, an Edmond Electric representative will call you when repairs have been made to confirm that your power is on again.
- Edmond Electric's telephone lines will be swamped with calls when there is a large power outage. You may get a recording. If you are not satisfied with a recording, wait a while and try again. Edmond Electric will promptly respond to restore power.
- Persons who depend on life support systems should make plans for alternate sources of power or alternate lodging in the event of a power outage.
Restoration Plan
Edmond Electric's service restoration policy is to assess the damage or cause of power loss and make repairs that will restore service to the most people in the least amount of time.
High priority is given to agencies that protect life and property, such as hospitals, police and fire departments. Any situation posing a public safety risk is also taken care of as quickly as possible.
Persons who depend on life support systems should make plans for alternate sources of power or alternate lodging in the event of a power outage.
