Applications & Permits
Due to limited parts availability, the City of Edmond only has a limited number of 5/8” meter install kits. Installs will be done on a priority basis until we are fully restocked. Please keep this in mind when planning your projects.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We will update as changes occur.
Completed applications must be submitted to the Building and Fire Code Services department to obtain required permits. Building permits involve the submission of plans and other required documents. Please review the application requirements that are applicable to your project before submitting your application. Application forms may be found at the bottom of this page.
Step 1 – Application Submittal
Completed applications and required plans are submitted to Building & Fire Code Services. Applications may be submitted via email. Do not send pre-payment with submissions.
Step 2 – Review Process
The plan reviewers will determine if your project is in compliance with construction codes, zoning, and city ordinances. You will be contacted if there are any pending issues/missing documents required.
Step 3 – Permit Approval
You will receive notification that your application has been approved. Upon receipt of the permit fee, your permit will be issued granting you permission to legally start construction! You must proceed as approved in the review process.
For commercial projects you are required to post the permit in a window or other prominent place at the construction site and keep a copy of the approved building plans at the site.
Bring any proposed changes to the attention of the building official immediately. Changes may require another review and approval in the same manner as the original application.
